Jimo Salako uses hair, film and photography to explore beauty, nature, memory and contemporary social issues.

For over twenty years, Jimo has worked internationally as a session hair artist, and as part of numerous image making teams working on editorial, celebrity, film and advertising photo shoots.

He continues to participate on creative art projects, notably a series of pop up creative hair spaces, that provide haircutting services alongside talks, art shows and collaborative creative events.

Jimo has been developing and exploring the theme of hair as a material and its relationship to nature and landscape , through a series of photographic and sculptural artworks which feature both natural and man-made forms.

Alongside this, Jimo has directed, written and produced several short films which function as another outlet that he employs to share ideas and stories.
